JAMB announces date for 2017 UTME

The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced a date for the 2017 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME). The examination will hold across the country in May 2017 and candidates have been advised to be careful of false dates and fraudsters. 2017 UTME to hold in May This was disclosed on the board’s Twitter handle. Beware of false dates and fraudsters.” Though the date for the examination has been announced, forms are not on sale yet. Explaining why, the JAMB registrar, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, said one reason for the delay was due to issues the board had with sale of scratch cards. Another was second reason given was the clash of timetables for which JAMB had met other exam bodies.

Just about six days after the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) recovered 17 exotic cars from a warehouse reportedly owned by Abdullahi Dikko Inde, former comptroller-general of the Nigerian Customs Service (NCS), another set of vehicles, tricycles and motorcycles, have been reportedly seized from him. Some of the exotic cars earlier seized from the ex-customs boss The Nation reports that the second recovery was made between Monday, February 27 and Tuesday, February 28 in another warehouse allegedly belonging to the former customs boss. The fresh items include a 2013 model 32-seater Nissan bus, 42 cargo tricycles, one tipper truck, 16 motorcycles, over 500 rug carpets and two fire-proof safes.
