A 50-year-old Ghanaian man from Asuboi-Wawase in Ayensuano District of the Eastern Region, has landed his 8-year-old daughter at the hospital after attacking her with a cutlass. The victim was reportedly crushing palm nuts with a friend of hers, but when her dad returned from the farm, and saw what they were doing, he yelled, chased and attacked her with a cutlass wounding her in the head. According to the girl’s aunt, Comfort Dogah, she returned from a voyage on Saturday night and saw the cut on the girl the next day (Sunday). Two siblings who have been identified on Facebook as Anne Marie James and her brother Melvin James, have been linked to family stabbing case, which left them dead and also left their mum seriously injured. According to the Police who were called to the flat in Merry Hill, Wolverhampton, at 9.45am yesterday after receiving a 999 call about a domestic incident from someone inside, the incident by Melvin. A 17-year-old girl, Fatima Baba, has appealed to the Niger Child Right Protection Agency to dissolve her one-month-old marriage. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, yesterday arraigned one Dairo Seun before Justice A. B. Mohammed of the FCT High Court, Jabi, Abuja for a N11,346,000 fraud. The Ministry of Finance had petitioned the EFCC in February 2016 requesting for “payroll fraud investigation”. It was part of efforts to unravel various techniques used by fraudsters to defraud the Nigerian government by way of ghost workers. Seun, who goes by various aliases including Momoh Hassan, Umar Musa and Umar Obele Musa, is facing an eight-count charge bordering on theft, criminal breach of trust and advance fee fraud. He is alleged to have connived with one Saliu Olashola (aka Nokia), to commit the fraud between 2013 and 2017. He is accused of stealing N5,673,503.64 from the Federal Government by creating fictitious accounts for salaries and allowances, using his various aliases, an offence contrary to Section 287 of the Penal Code Act, Laws of Federation 2004. Four criminals are now in police net after they were caught boldly stealing car battery belonging to the Ondo State deputy governor. An Okitipupa Magistrates’ Court in Ondo State on Wednesday remanded four men in prison over an alleged theft of a Skybite 100 Arms vehicle battery belonging to the state Deputy Governor, Agboola Ajayi. The accused – Dare Akinlade, 19; Pius Macauley, 22; Samuel Baniah, 22 and Segun Ilesanmi, 25, are standing trial on a three-count charge of conspiracy, felony and stealing. The accused, of no fixed addresses, pleaded not guilty to the charge. The Magistrate, Mr Banji Ayeomoni, ordered that they should be remanded at the Okitipupa Prisons until March 10 for further hearing and determination of their bail. The Prosecutor, Insp. The EFCC on Tuesday, March 7 arraigned one Clement Joseph alias Dr. Omale before Justice O. A. Otaluka of the FCT High Court sitting in Lugbe, Abuja. According to a statement by the EFCC’s spokesman, Wilson Uwujaren, Dr Omale is facing a 7-count charge of conspiracy and obtaining by false pretence to the tune of N5.6million. Over 40 Drug Peddlers Arrested In Ghana During Operation

Police at Achimota in Ghana have arrested 43 drug peddlers who are suspected to be perpetrating robbery activities in the area.  The suspects, 40 of whom are men and 3 women,  were caught during a raid on Saturday in the ghettos and slums located in the community. According to Ghana Web report, some of them were caught in the act smoking substances suspected to be marijuana, while others were in possession of the material. Confirming their arrest, Commander of the Mile 7 District Police Command, Supt. Iddrisu Tanko, said: ‘Their activities are actually taking a toll on the community, in that we record pockets of people being attacked in isolated areas in the community. People have their Ipads, phones, and bags being snatched from them at knife or gun point. ‘Those we’ve arrested have given the indication that they are people who are normally around these areas where dry substances suspected to be Indian hemp is normally sold,’ he said.

The Police in Niger on Wednesday arrested a 45-year-old-man, over alleged rape of his three-year-old stepdaughter. The suspect was arrested in Kundu, a village in Rafi Local Government Area of the state. Police Inspector Abdullahi Mayaki, attached to the state Child Rights Protection Agency, said that the mother of the girl, Malama Fatima Bawa, reported the matter to the agency. He said that the suspect, however, denied the allegation during investigation, claiming that he only intervened whenever his wife beat the girl. Lead City University Student Sentenced To Death By Hanging for Killing Fellow Student

Justice Adegboye Gbolagunte of an Ibadan High Court has sentenced to death by hanging, a 200 level student of Lead City University, Ibadan, Moshood Owolabi pictured above. Moshood was sentenced to death after the court found him guilty of stabbing one Seun Kolawole, a fellow student, to death two years ago. Prosecuting counsel, and a Deputy Director in the Oyo State Ministry of Justice, A. Olawale, told the court that Moshood who is a student in the department of Physical and Health Education stabbed Kolawole with a broken bottle in the neck, following a misunderstanding between him and the deceased. The offence is punishable under Section 319 of the Criminal Code Cap. 38 Vol. II Law of Oyo State 2000. Justice Gbolagunte said the evidence provided before the court proved beyond doubt that Moshood was guilty of the crime. He thereafter sentenced him to death by hanging. Ogbogoro community in Obio-Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers state has been thrown into pandemonium following the killing of a cab driver, Ngozi Dennis by stray bullet. An Abuja Magistrate Court in Bwari has ordered the remand of a young boy for allegedly impregnating a 16-year-old Junior Secondary School student. The young boy’s mother was also accused of threatening the girl if she failed to abort the pregnancy. The father of the girl told the court that the incident had forced the girl out of school. He said the pregnancy was first suspected by the mother of the girl before it was later confirmed at a hospital. He said the girl told her mother that she was impregnated by the accused, one Japhet Adams, who used to lure her into their compound any time her mother was away and had sexual intercourse with her. The father of the girl further told the court that when the young boy was informed of the pregnancy, he accepted responsibility but his mother stood against it and she threatened the girl to abort it with a warning that if she failed to do so, she would curse her and the unborn child. For 11 years, Emmanuel Nwobilo AKA Ukunwayin, a native of Umuwankwo area of Abia State, allegedly operated criminal activities of kidnapping, scam and r*pe. By his own admission, each time he was caught by the police, the case never got to court as he always found ways of getting himself off the hook with money. The Commissioner of Police, Kwara  State Command, Mr. Olusola Amore, says  intelligence available to his command indicates that internet fraudsters have developed a new method which they now use in scamming Nigerians. Amore in a statement  by the command’s  Public Relations Officer, Mr. Ajayi Okasanmi, on Friday stated that the fraudsters’ earlier scam of sending out text messages to people claiming that their Bank Verification Number had been deactivated was no longer effective, hence their new strategy. The CP said in the new trick, an e-mail would be sent to people’s phones as if it emanated from their bank’s e-mail service. He added that the fraudsters would inform their victims that N7,000 or more had been debited from their account as subscription fee for the bank’s monthly digest magazine and that the charges would be deducted monthly. The United States has branded Nigeria a home of fraud as it also expressed concern over the capacity of Nigeria’s States Security Service, SSS, to investigate money laundering. Premium Times reports that the U.S. government said this in an assessment which was contained in March 2017 edition of the International Narcotics Control Strategy Report (INCSR) authored by the US Department of State’s Bureau for International Narcotic and Law Enforcement Affairs. “There are concerns about the Department of State Services’ capacity to investigate money laundering and that it does not share case information with other agencies that also conduct financial investigations,” the report states. A team of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has ransacked the palatial home of George Turnah, popularly known as the godson to former President Goodluck Jonathan. The fierce-looking operatives reportedly stormed the courtyard of Turnah located at Kolo Creek, Ogbia local government area with scores of fully-armed mobile policemen and soldiers. They were said to have arrived the courtyard at about 5pm on Friday and painstakingly searched various buildings and rooms in the premises till about 10pm. Though there was no clue that money was recovered from the house, the team were said to have carted away cheque books and financial documents. The commission was said to be investigating an alleged multiple cases of corrupt enrichment against Turnah and his involvement in disappearance of money allocated to the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC). 25-year-old Vicentia Tadagbe Tchranvoukinni, a female preacher, in Benin Republic, has declared that she is God and her mission on earth is to defeat the devil. She claims she fell from heaven with the divine mission of tackling devil and his agents in the world. Tchranvoukinni’s church has since been expelled from the Benin community of churches because of their charismatic theologies and clashes with other religions. Henry Chibueze, aka Vampire, a notorious kidnap ringleader, who escaped from the Imo state High Court in Owerri, was killed on Thursday, March 2, by operatives of the Inspector-General of Police Intelligence Response Team. The notorious ringleader made headlines in January after members of his gang in a daring move stormed the Owerri High Court in Imo state where he was facing trial and rescued him while also killing two persons. According to the Nigeria Police Force, operatives from the Inspector General of Police Special Intelligence Response Team trailed him to his hideout in Omu-Awa forest in Ikwerre local government area of Rivers State in the early hours of Thursday, March 2 where he was killed after a shootout. NDLEA Discovers Cocaine In Man’s Anus, Ephedrine In Female Foot Wears

Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency have apprehended a suspect at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport, Lagos, over 26.2kg of ephedrine found in female foot wears. The narcotics were detected during the screening of passengers. In another operation, the operatives also arrested two suspects who had just arrived from Cambodia and Sierra Leone with 305g and 1.37kg of cocaine respectively. . The suspect arrested in connection with the ephedrine seizure, 48-year-old Ogujiuba Zacchaeus, is an electrician, who was on his way to Tanzania. One of the other two suspects – Uchegbu Emeka (33), a textile merchant, allegedly inserted 305g of cocaine in his anus. . The third suspect, Emeka Okafor (28), an auto parts dealer, reportedly ingested 1.37kg of cocaine. Emeka said he had lost everything he had due to economic recession and that is why he agreed to smuggle cocaine to Cambodia for N800,000.

For 11 years, Emmanuel Nwobilo AKA Ukunwayin, a native of Umuwankwo area of Abia State , allegedly operated criminal activities of kidnapping, scam and rape. By his own admission, each time he was caught by the police, the case never got to court as he always found ways of getting himself off the hook. But when he landed in the net of the Special Anti- Robbery Squad of the Abia State Police Command recently, he was made to chronicle his crime activities on camera. In a video posted online by an operative of the SARS in the state, Nwobilo, explained that since 2006 when he had been actively involved in crime , he had raped up to seven women. He said, “I was taught by Emmanuel Sunji , my cousin. He taught me the kidnapping business and how to defraud people. The Central Bank of Nigeria said the recent appreciation of the Naira against other currencies was the result of its market monitoring and intervention. The Acting Director, Corporate Communications of the CBN, Mr Isaac Okoroafor, on Thursday in Sokoto refuted the allegations by Mr Babatunde Gbadamosi on the illegal sales of foreign currencies at ridiculous rates were responsible for the change in forex policy, the PUNCH reports. Gbadamosi, a Lagos businessman and former governorship candidate, made allegations of racketeering against the CBN and disparity in allocation of foreign exchange to cronies of the present administration. He further accused the CBN of selling dollars to some people for as low as N3 to a dollar The CBN, however, released a statement clarifying that the transactions in question were third party transactions like Japanese Yen to the South African Rand or Euros to U.S Dollars. A Federal High Court in Lagos has adjourned till March 24, 2017, for hearing in the suit filed by Miss Oluwatise Aderinokun, the eight-year-old and last child of the late founder and former Managing Director of Guaranty Trust Bank Plc (GTB), Olutayo Aderinokun, against the bank and six others over alleged manipulation of her late father’s shares. Other respondents in the legal battle are GTBank’s Registrar, Datamax Registrar Limited, Kanali Investments Limited, Day Waterman Company Limited, Caribod Investment Limited, Mr. Babatunwa Aderinokun, and Investment One Financial Services Limited. At the resumed hearing, the seventh defendant, Investment One Financial Services Limited, used by late Aderinokun, to acquire shares in GTBank, informed the court that it had filed an affidavit of facts to assist the court in the judicious determination of the plaintiff’s suit.
